Our church is 30 something years young and counting!

 

We began life in February 1987 with nine people, meeting in a private home in the Milperra area. After around two months, the group asked Rev Wallace Reid to join them as their pastor. (Wallace served faithfully until his retirement in September 2010.) This rapidly growning group became known as Macarthur Christian Fellowship when we were meeting in Revesby Community Hall, Macarthur Avenue, Revesby. However, we soon moved to Milperra Public School and became known as Emmanuel Christian Fellowship.

 

In 1992, we joined the Baptist Union of church.

 

In 1996, we moved from Milperra Public School to 85 Horsley Road, Panania. We purchased this church site from the Fijian Seventh Day Adventist Church, and this is where you will still find us.

 

We were known as both Emmanuel Baptist Church (the people), and Emmanuel Christian Centre (the building). Then in 2014, we became LifeChurch Panania, as a fresh expression of our new life in Jesus Christ - The Way the Truth and the Life.

 

Many families have worked together for many years (with others coming and going over that time) seeking God's direction for the church, and reaching out to the community through many clubs, carols events and helping families with their needs.

 

Our church's second Pastor, Rev Ian Duncan was welcomed in July 2013. Ian is enjoying working closely with the enthusiastic ministry team to chart the next exciting chapter of the church's future, under God's leading. Come and see what a great church this is!
